Since making a goal to lose 100 pounds last August I have been determined to not only change my diet but my overall lifestyle. Making fitness a major part of my lifestyle when I was in Chicago was actually getting easier. But knowing I was going to be out of town on vacation or visiting family meant if I wanted to continue seeing results I would need to continue making those workouts a priority. A few weeks into this journey I was in Scottsdale for a bachelorette weekend and knew we had a packed weekend of activities and getting even one workout in would be a challenge. Thankfully I found out one of the plans on the agenda was an uphill hike close to our hotel. I loved getting to sweat with friends and enjoying the beautiful desert landscape in the process.
Besides the hike I wanted to get in one more workout so I made it a point to get up early another day to workout at the gym at the hotel where we were staying. Although I was inside I had a gorgeous view while I was on the treadmill.
A quick set of weights and I was finished in time to meet everyone for breakfast. This trip really helped me to understand that a great vacation for me is about having fun but also about doing something for myself. Getting those workouts in helped me to relax more and even indulge during a few meals during our girls’ trip.
Looking forward to sharing some of my favorite classes to take while on the road. Until next time!
