When you’re on a diet going into a holiday weekend it can create some anxiety. Don’t get me wrong I’m looking forward to a few days of relaxation but beyond that have you noticed that there seems to be a surplus of food and alcohol present when people are celebrating the extra days off?
I’m getting off a little easy this year because I’m spending part of the weekend solo and part of the weekend with my husband which means I should be able to control what I’m eating at least half the time (I hope).
I started my Friday off with a killer workout at Shred415 with one of the toughest instructors, Jeremy Walton. I had just a few errands to run during the day and now it’s time to get ready for the Beyoncé concert. I’m going with my girlfriends Jenné and Sarah and we’re so excited to see her perform.
The weather is not supposed to be great this weekend so as much as I would like to get in a run on the 606 with Wrigley tomorrow I can’t guarantee it will happen if it ends up raining. So instead of playing it by ear I scheduled a class at Pilates ProWorks. If it doesn’t rain I can always do both. I’m spinning per usual on Sunday and I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with Phil. My friend Jill and I are seeing Me Before You later Sunday night which means I will be having candy but I am really going to try hard to not go overboard. Damn you sweet tooth!
Just because it’s a holiday weekend doesn’t mean that I earned a splurge but at the same time I’m starting to learn that sometimes a splurge can be good. So regardless if you holiday plans include a workout or a barbecue – enjoy yourself.
Looking forward to seeing some of you this weekend and for those of you I’m missing post lots of pictures!
Heidy
